We’re seeking a Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to maintain and enhance the stability and security of our cloud platform. Our environment includes complex Kubernetes workloads, strict compliance requirements, multi-stage deployment pipelines, and infrastructure that must remain reliable as we scale. We are looking for an engineer who enjoys building automation, reducing operational risk, and owning the technical backbone that keeps a platform running smoothly. Locations: Remote
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, with equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes production experience (AKS preferred)
- Cloud experience in Azure
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform)
- CI/CD pipeline ownership
- Scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Understanding of cloud security fundamentals
- Experience supporting regulated or compliance-driven environment
Related Experience:
- FedRAMP Moderate experience
- Service mesh experience (Linkerd or Istio)
- GitOps workflows (ArgoCD)
- Experience supporting SaaS platform
Job Duties:
Kubernetes & Platform Operations
- Own the full lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters (AKS), including:
- Version upgrades
- Node pool management
- Cluster add-ons and controllers
- Maintain cluster security posture (RBAC, network policies, pod security)
- Diagnose and resolve platform-level production issues
- Implement and maintain observability (logging, metrics, alerting)
CI/CD, Automation & Release Engineering
- Own CI/CD pipelines for build, test, scan, and deployment workflows
- Build and maintain automation using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to support:
- Platform operations
- Environment provisioning
- Compliance and audit evidence collection
- Manage environment promotion strategies and release processes
- Maintain container image standards and vulnerability scanning
- Continuously improve deployment reliability, speed, and repeatability
Security & Compliance Operations (FedRAMP-aligned)
- Own operational security controls related to infrastructure and pipelines
- Support compliance efforts (FedRAMP-aligned) including:
- Evidence collection
- Control validation
- Audit support
- Partner with security teams to implement and maintain platform controls
- Maintain documentation and SOPs for operational processes
Platform Tooling & Dependencies
- Own lifecycle management for core platform tools (e.g., workflow engines, GitOps tools, service mesh, ingress)
- Plan and execute version upgrades with minimal operational risk
- Evaluate platform tooling changes with a focus on reliability and maintainability
Infrastructure as Code
- Maintain and evolve Terraform-based infrastructure
- Ensure environments are reproducible, consistent, and secure
- Enforce standards for networking, identity, and access management
Minimum Qualifiers:
- 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, with equivalent experience.
